If you’ve looked into weight loss injections like Ozempic or similar and found they’re not an option for you, whether that’s side effects, not qualifying because of other medications or health conditions, or simply not wanting to rely on something long term, you’re not out of options. There’s another route, and it doesn’t involve needles, prescriptions, or ongoing cost.
It’s a short-term hypnotherapy programme aimed at deep, permanent change, not a quick fix, and not a lifelong dependency either.
A Different Option to Medication
Medications like Ozempic and similar drugs are everywhere in the conversation about weight loss right now, and for some people they’ll be the right choice. But they’re not right for everyone. Some people experience side effects they’d rather avoid. Some don’t qualify because of existing medications or medical conditions. And for many, there’s an understandable reluctance to rely long-term on something that manages a symptom without ever touching the reason it developed in the first place.
My process offers a different route. It’s a short-term programme, not an ongoing commitment, aimed at creating change that’s genuinely permanent because it addresses the cause rather than managing the symptom. No injections, no ongoing prescriptions, no side effects to weigh up. Just your own mind, working with you instead of against you.
The Real Reason Diets Don’t Stick
Every eating pattern you have today, whether it’s comfort eating, feeling compelled to finish everything on your plate, snacking when you’re stressed, or simply not knowing what “healthy” actually feels like, was learned somewhere. Usually a long time ago, and usually for a good reason at the time.
Maybe you grew up being told to clear your plate because food shouldn’t be wasted. Maybe there wasn’t always enough, so your mind learned that eating now, while it’s available, is safer than waiting. Maybe sugar was tightly rationed, so it became the ultimate treat, the thing you reach for when life feels hard. Maybe food became tangled up with love, comfort, or relief from stress before you had any other tools for managing how you felt. Maybe your body or your eating was criticised or shamed, and food became something loaded with guilt rather than nourishment.
None of this is a character flaw. It’s learning. And learning can be updated.
Why Willpower Was Never Going to Be Enough
Here’s the part that explains why so many people white-knuckle their way through a diet and then rebound: your subconscious mind is running the show far more than your conscious mind is. It’s the part of you that controls habits, cravings, and automatic responses, and its main job is to keep you safe by keeping things familiar.
If, somewhere beneath conscious awareness, food still means comfort, love, or safety, then telling yourself “just eat less” is fighting a losing battle. The subconscious hears “this change is hard” or “this is being taken away from me,” and it will quietly steer you back toward the familiar every time, usually disguised as a craving, a moment of stress, or “just this once.”
This is why so many people can be completely committed and still find themselves back at square one. It was never really about discipline, and it was never something an injection could fix either, because it isn’t targeting the actual cause.
How My Process Works
Rather than fighting the subconscious with restriction, my hypnotherapy process works with it. In our sessions, we identify the original root cause behind your eating pattern, whatever that turns out to be for you, and we update the belief or the response that’s been running quietly in the background ever since.
Once an old belief like “I must finish what’s on my plate” or “food is how I cope with stress” has been updated, the pull toward old habits genuinely loosens. You’re not gritting your teeth around a plate of vegetables. You’re not white-knuckling your way past the biscuit tin. The changes start to feel natural, because the part of your mind that used to resist them isn’t resisting any more.
This is also why the work tends to hold. We’re not layering a new behaviour on top of an unresolved cause. We’re resolving the cause, so the new behaviour has nothing left to fight against.
If This Sounds Like You
If injections aren’t an option or aren’t something you want to rely on, and you recognise any of this, comfort eating, an old rule about clearing your plate, a complicated history with sugar, or simply feeling like you’ve never quite learned what a healthy relationship with food looks like, it’s worth knowing that this doesn’t have to be something you manage forever. It can be something you resolve.
If you’d like to talk about whether this approach could work for you, get in touch and we can have a conversation about what’s really driving your eating patterns, and what changing that could look like.
